What are ecolabels and are they required?
Ecolabels are specific markings or symbols on products that help identify items that meet environmental performance or production criteria. These criteria can include emissions, chemical use, recycling, sustainable production of materials, and more. Though these labels are not required in the U.S., EU, and Canada, they allow consumers to easily identify environmentally friendly textile and footwear products.
More information about ecolabels can be found on the
EPA website and
EU website.
