Webinar: Pivotal 2018 Mid-Term Elections & What's at Stake
Join AAFA and BIPAC as we examine the factors shaping this year's campaigns and policy ramifications of the elections.
Audience: Member-only webinars are crafted and presented by AAFA to address member needs and provide exclusive insights around industry developments. AAFA member-only webinars are closed-press.
Description:
On November 6, Americans return to the polls for the 2018 mid-term elections. Collectively, voters will be making decisions regarding one-third of the Senate, every House seat, and many governorships. While mid-term elections often generate less excitement and interest than those for president, this year is shaping up to be pivotal because partisan control in both chambers could change. The large number of Congressional retirements, ongoing legal challenges to the 2010 Congressional redistricting, and the prospect that the mid-term elections may be a proxy referendum on President Trump all heighten the drama and the stakes facing Americans this November.
Join AAFA and the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) as we examine the factors shaping this year’s campaigns and explore the policy ramifications of the elections.
Participants of this webinar will understand:
The current state-of-play affecting key Congressional races and governorships.
Major factors that could affect electoral outcomes.
Ways the campaign season and the elections themselves can affect policy considerations, both before and after November.
Steps to participate and how to ensure member voices are heard.
